Anyone have hogfish in their reefs?

Curious to hear reports on hogfish in reef tanks. Apparently they are so so for reefs. They have a tendancy to go for shrimp or snails. Do they go for corals? I have had a lyretail hogfish for about six months now & it has not been a problem for my variety of soft corals. I just am not surre what the future holds as it grows. Anyone else with hogfish? Good or bad? TT.

I have heard the same info about hogs reefwise. I would love to have a tank big enough for a lyretail I really like them!

I have 3 hogfish (2 corals and a Diana's- had a spanish baby but it died). They are delightful fish and can go reef as babies but as adults no they will devour everything they can get in their mouths. Great fish tho and very hardy in most cases. Lyretail the most mellow of the common found Hogs.

Thanks for the replies folks. I had suspicions that the lyretail might be a problem as it grows. I have decided to find it a new home & replace it with a more reef friendly fish. I was thinking of getting a Purple Tang. Geez, if you guys were up my way, I would gladly give it to you. It really is a beautiful fish. Anyone in the Vancouver area interested? Of course the challenge is to get it out! TT.
