Anyone have pajama cardinal fish?

I have had my pajama cardinals for about 2 months now. They're eating great and swimming around, looking really healthy. I am wondering if anyone else with them notices theirs being darker around their mouths and eyes? I figured mine were stressed out in the beginning because they developed blackish color where they used to be yellow. I did a lot of research on their color and found a picture that looked exactly like them. It was found under a topic of melanosis. It's been 2 months now though and they are still a little dark. Is this normal?
I only have 2 of those, plus a sand sifting starfish, hermits and emerald crabs, and some snails in there. Water parameters are ammonia 0, nitrates 0, nitrates 15, and pH 8.0-8.2. Temp is 78-79 and it's a 55 gallon

I have a couple but they "seem" to be yellow around the mouth and eyes...
Are you seeing the whole "mask" as dark, or just streaks...?

I have they can darkin and lightin up depending on mood and all that good stuff here is a link to some that I had a few years ago. i did find out they prefered to be in groups of 3-5 rather then 1-2 fish.

Cool, thanks. I've been wondering why they're still stressed out, and it's nice to hear it's natural for their coloring to do that. I'll probably buy another one to make 3 of them.
