Keep jumpers in and reduce heat that glass tops can create.

Cant small fish still jump through the holes though? I think that a vented canopy is the best tank cover.

The holes are probably 1/3" in diameter so fish will not jump out.

It's a chance, but better than nothing, this way if they jump they might hit the eggcrate and land back in the tank. However I read about some guy whose lost two or three firefish thru it so although I would really like a purple one I'm too afraid. They are very jumpy fish and my cat likes to jump at the tank.
