Anyone have two spot gobies vanish?

I added a pair of two spot (Signal/4-wheel drive) gobies to my 210 yesterday, and they have gone AWOL. Acclimated them in the morning, went to work, then when I came back yesterday, no sign of them. Do they have a habit of hiding for a few days in the rock pile before venturing out? Do they make a home under a rock, and then take some time to start foraging? Just asking for personal experiences here. The fish both looked very happy and healthy when I got them. Nothing really predatory in the tank. Only have a Coral Beauty, cleaner wrasse and a small red serpent star, and a banded serpent star. I have heard that some serpents can be fish predators, but these have coexisted with the other two fish for quite some time now. Thanks in advance.

I don't have any 2 spot gobies, but I have 2 wheeler's watchman and 2 high fin gobies; they each hid in the rocks right after being put in. One was missing for a month before we saw it again.

It is very common for any new introduction to hide for a period of time, some more than others. When I introduced my signal goby into my tank, it stayed hidden for a few days, then came out and roamed the tank for a few weeks. Unfortunately, I believe it got eaten by my marine beta when I was attempting to wean it from live feeders. I was rather upset by that, but it happens sometimes. :(

very normal for a goby to not come out for a while IMO. i have a watch man and it took 2 weeks before i saw him again after putting it in the tank (i thought it died or something)...and still when he see's any movement it would swim back to it's hiding place  . now after 2 months it stays out in the open and even attacks my neon velvet damsel L:pL when it gets to close to it's home... :D

When I had gobies, it was not uncommon to not see them for a week at a time....so this is nothing unusual.

Thanks all. I was figuring that, just paranoid after some sort of bug ran rampant through my fish population. For a while I thought I had a mantis with the rapidity that the fish died. But, unless he just killed for fun, and left no marks, it was a disease. I let the tank go for a month with only the mandarin, cleaner wrasse, and CB, which survived. These are the first fish I have added since then, so I'm real jumpy. I'll keep a lookout and keep you all posted. Thanks again!

If only one is gone, it could be "sealed" up after pairing with the other. If you see it in 3-4 days, that could be the reason. Usually the larger male, I believe, is the one that gets to do the egg-duty.

I heard the twin spots are more active at night also, but I don't know about this. I've never had one.
