Anyone hear that Obama went to Church?

No, he went to Georgetown University, a Jesuit college, and before giving his speech had them cover the letter symbols for Jesus.

A Catholic Church I believe.
Read the story...The Catholic church stated (on the subject): (He was not at one)
The blog also talked with Catholic University spokesman Victor Nakas, who felt a bit more strongly on the subject:
"I can’t imagine, as the bishops’ university and the national university of the Catholic Church, that we would ever cover up our religious art or signage for any reason," Mr. Nakas wrote. "Our Catholic faith is integral to our identity as an institution of higher education."

Yup BHO was taken.
It's freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM.

Just be mindful of this event goring forward. According to the GestapO it is policy to cover back drops like that. Now that may or may not be the case, at this point the Hobama administration could tell me ice is cold and I wouldn't believe it.

Ashcroft started it.
We should cover everything just in case. Especially b**bs. Those are a serious threat to National Security.

If Obama continued with the Ashcroft policy of covering B**bs we would ever see Bider or Gaither again

I'm not a fan of Obama, but I don't see any problem with this.
If he would have not covered it and gave the speech with the symbol for Jesus above his head, people would have been yelling blasphemy that he is trying to symbolize himself as the messiah.
Besides, he made several references to scriptures during his speech that wasn't in the posted article.

I agree, if he didn't cover it then there would be a whole different point of view on this issue.

WHY? If you go to a Christian place to hold a speech it should be expected that there are signs of Jesus and Christianity....I do not see how there could be a problem with that....
AND IF it were to be a problem...give your speech in a public..Non-Christian..place
IMO

I seriously want to like Obama, even though he is about 90 degrees from my political sentiment. This tendency to try to diminish American and Christian/Jewish perspectives and glorify unAmerican and Islamic perspectives has me really nervous, as well. I know he is trying to reach out to those who have been traditionally at odds, but to constantly apologize for and repress what made America the greatest nation in history has me concerned: coupled with the made up DHS "right-wing threat list". Glad I have my reef tank. It keeps my mind off of the creeping sensation of paranoia I am fighting.

Too bad the church was so intimidated by the Messiah, that they agreed to do it. They shouldn't have. I believe in separation of church and state, but you cant have it both ways. If the Messiah wants to visit a catholic school to deliver his speech and thereby appear to be a religious person, appealing to Christians he should ask them to compromise their religion to do so. Just another IMO blatant example of Yobamas hypocrisy.
I too would like to find some way to get behind him. Just a little at least. I hope he does some good. It's just everytime he turns around he screws it up for me....
