Please give their address and/or town and state. I have been looking everywhere. I love the tank pics I'm seeing from people here who have used it. I just found out from Southdown today that they were bought out by Cemex and I want to find some sand before it all changes over. Any help appreciated!

Thanks David, I looked up their numbers and I'm going to call them tomorrow. Anyone else? I'm starting to feel a little Mony Pythonish here in like I'm searching for the holy grail or something. <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" />

DAb, How much sand do you need? I got Florida Keys live sand from Cyrstal Clear and got a good deal. I am really pleased with the look and quality of the sand. Just a thought.

I have sent a couple people the Southdown sand but you would have to pay for the shipping. I would need your zip code to tell you the amount for shipping. My E-Mail address is mfoti@rochester.rr.com. Just let me know.

jond, I've seen the live sand at Crystal Clear and I would like to use some of it but I want to change to dsb so I need a good 2 - 3 inches of sand then put the ls on top of it.

DAB, the Home Depot in Waterford, CT had a bunch back in Dec. when I started up my new tank. I don't know if they still have it though, I will check next time I am there. It might be worth a call if the other stores don't pan out. I think you will be very happy with it. happy hunting

OK for all of us that don't have Southdown available in our area here is what the Southdown rep told me today. Their distribution areas are up and down the east coast and they deal with large contracts. 45,000 lbs or more per order. So far they have only extended their markets through Kentucky and Illinois area. They are close to completing a national contract with Ace Hardware to supply all the Ace distribution centers with their products including this sand around the country. He says if we are in an area where we can't get it to give it a couple months and it should be nationally available at Ace. He also knew exactly why I was calling and told me I could probably make a fortune if I had a place to store 45,000 lbs of sand..hmmm been looking for a new business to get into. ;)

Rockface, he only knows distribution, not specific stores, you would unfortunately have to check with you local Home Depot store to see if they have it. If they do not you could have your store call their buying center and locate your nearest Home Depot that carries it. If it is available in your HD" buying region" you should be able to get it sent to your local store. This guy was really nice but asked me not give out his number cause there just isn't anything he can do to help us "end users" he just deals with the vendors. That is unless you want to order 45 thousand pounds!
