I live on the third floor with the sun rising on east and falling on the west too, and run my ac constantly, still steady 200.00. Also for you guys who have pools, and jacuzies<sp you should look into solar panels for heating that saves some big bucks too. I don't know how popular they are up north but alot of peps down here use them.

I am an accountant for an electric coop. Meters can be misread. Give them a call and ask them to send someone to read the meter again to make sure they did not misread. Ask them if they recently changed the meter too as new meters ccan malfunction...old ones too.
Make sure an enterprising neighbor has not somehow tapped into your meter/electric box.
Compare this bill to the same period from last year to see how much higher. Look at the kwh charge for the two periods. Unless you have a significant usage increase and/or kwh charge increase...your bill is probably wrong.

The tinfoil worked REALLY well!! Yeah, it's ugly, but I live in an apartment in an urban area, so who cares?

We put it up at night, when it was cool to begin with. It was in insant improvement!
Normally, I awaken at dawn, but with the windows blocked off, I slept until NOON that first morning!!!
Luckily, I didn't have to work!

Well, at least you didn't get hammered like a woman here in Illinois did on her water bill...she got a bill for $74,000. Turns out her meter was broken. Wouldn't you think that the employees would think it was odd that her bill was $74,000? Nope, they just bill her anyway LOL!
I'd call about it...you never know, it may be an error or a broken meter.

yeah, but did they fix her meter, and pay for her water and sewer bill for the month?Sounds like a good deal to me.

Yep, they sure did. They also waived some monthly fee that is normally charged, so her bill came out to around $32.
I would have had a heart attack when I opened the bill though LOL!! :scared:
