Does anyone know if this light is a good light for a 75 gallon? Its a Current Satelite Power Compact
heres a link to the brand of lights.
Havent made up my mind on this light and if its a decent brand. Let me know everything u know about it. Would you get this light for your tank and so on or would i need to go with a jebo light of some sort.

First off edit your posting and take out the link to the competitors site. SWF.com does not allow this.
Better way to ask would be;
Is this light good for what I want to accomplish with my tank? (like fish only, fish with soft corals, fish with high end coral and clams, etc.)
Then describe the light like this:
48 inch 4x65 Watt Current USA PowerCompact Dual Satellite Fixture
Now that the training is over, it depends on what you want to do with your tank. This light would be fine for fish only or fish with some low light requiring coral. It will not allow you to keep some of the higher light requiring creatures like SPS coral and clams.

Lights are always a tricky subject because lighting is based on what you want to keep. The lights in question are imho OK, but you would be much better off getting a T5 fixture. I wish I would have done it when I first started the hobby, but I took my former LFS advice and just got PC, only to find out later that it wasn't enough for what I wanted to do.
Will they work? Sure, for softies, zoas, and less light demanding stuff
. But in all seriousness, things not to ever skimp on because you just end up buying better later: Lights, Protein skimmer, and tanks
.

ok i found the Nova Extreme SLR T-5, but whats better? Nova Extreme T5HO or Nova Extreme Pro T5HO.
I really like the Nova Extreme Pro T5HO, bc it has the blue bulbs, i like the tanks that have the blue tint to it.
Nova Extreme T5HO

[hr]
48 inch 4X54 Watt
Nova Extreme Pro T5HO----48 inch 6 x 54 Watt--(3 bulbs are blue 3 are white)
which would be better out of these two lights to grow some coral for my clown fish when i get them? could i mount these 2 lights to my canopy?

I run that fixture on our 72. (the satellite dual PC fixture)I heep mainly softies and a couple LPS. For the money...IMO, it can't be beat. I paid $129 +tax. I am very happy with the quality. The only thing I would do is lose the factory 6700/10k daylights and install a straight 10k or 14k.
My tank...

In a T5 look for individual reflectors.

the Nova Extreme pro is better than the Nova Extreme. but the bulbs that come with it are junk, so you really won't get the best out the fixture until you replace the stock bulbs with some real bulbs.

SOCAL. u have the nova or current lighting system?
I have the Current Dual Satellite 4/65w PC with moons. $129 at my LFS.
I replaced the 6700/10,000k bulbs with straight 10,000k.
If you have the money to go T5, I would do it now. You will want to later anyway.
(Current USA makes the Satellite and the Nova fixtures)

in the long run T5 will save you money on bulbs. the bulbs are a couple dollars cheaper than PC bulbs. also you need to replace the PC bulbs every 8 months while T5 you change them every 12 months.

+1
Comparing Power Compact and T5 is like comparing two types of cars. Chevy being Power Compact and T5 being Ford.
You have more options with T5 as far as bulb selection. I decided to upgrade to T5 when it was time to replace my PC bulbs. I had no clue that each bulb would be $40. A good T5 bulb could last 18 months.
As Socal mentioned, you can keep softies and most LPS under PC. But what happens down the line if you want an anemone, clam or SPS? Spend the money now instead of possibly spending double the money down the line.

We have this light on our 55gal. I would not order it if I were you. My husband sent the first one back because one of the lights would not stay put and kept loosening itself until it would not come on. We got the replacement and it was fine for a bit, but has since started doing the same thing. Our LFS told us they had been having a lot of trouble with Currents and had actually taken one from a personal tank at home to an electrician and had him fix it so. The online site we ordered from told my husband they are having lots of folks return them and have tried to get Current to stand behind the product, but they say there is not a problem. The fan on this light is also pretty loud. JMO, but I would go with a different light.

I have yet to hear a fellow reefer say bad things about that fixture. Some of the more experienced reefers will tell you to buy better bulbs than the stock bulbs that come with it. Personally I have kept corals successfully without spending extra $ on better quality bulbs. When it is time to replace the bulbs I would suggest buying the higher end bulbs.
To answer your question earlier about where to buy these bulbs.... I can't because I will get grounded.
