They are okay, a common hitchhiker on live rock. You will find more as they reproduce later - filter feeder

Well that's neat! I'm suprised anything lived on that rock. It was delayed in shipping so my rock was on a cold FeDex truck for three days before it was delivered to me.

LR is a lot tougher than most people give it credit for. Think about it, it comes in covered with living organisms - yet most live rock collected sits somewhere in a large holding facility with poor waterflow (sometimes for months), it often ships for two, three or more days covered in nothing but wet newspaper (unprotected from temperature), it almost never gets aclimated before going into a tank (despite being covered with living organisms), and yet somehow it still comes through covered with living things. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of things that die in the shipping process, but its pretty amazing what does make it.

Exactly! I'm pretty excited that anything lived on the LR; I also got a couple of favia brain coral pieces. They didn't make it here alive obviously, but we went through heck getting out 10+ little worm looking things out...

Cool! See even an old dog like me can learn new things. Always thought of foraminiferans as microscopic organisms - had to go check it out for myself. Nice job zman1

That is way cool!!! I have seem some white spines or fuzz on them and it never even crossed my mind that this might be some type of living organism instead of a plant. Just read that what I was seeing are the feeding tenticles.

In a piece of LR in my fiancee's tank he has something like your talking about. It kinda looks like a tentical that retracts, and extends
It's almost like an octopus...kinda creepy
