My tanks r in my sons room and bathroom and when I go to check on him, I like to shine a flashlight into the tank and check out all the tiny shrimp, crabs, bristle worms. They r everywhere. Its so cool. They love the moon lights as does my yellow tang. For some reason, he is always about. My old tangs in other tanks always went behind the rocks and "snoozed". He is always swimming around. Must have ADD or something.

Use a red lense flashlight. The red light wont scare away the critters, so you can watch them even longer.

Get a red permanent marker and color the lens red. Color the inside of the lens so it doesnt get scatched or smeared.

I wear a rayovac head-strap light, its got a red lense spot, and a white led spot + a flood light. Its great because its hands-free, and you can man your drink and bag of snacks while being given a show. I found this little gem at radioshack for $8.99

yeah, the bathtub was leaking in the middle so instead of spending money to replace it and just letting my son use our big tub, I built a raised up subfloor, installed an outlet behind it and built the 75g into the hole. It looks awesome reflecting off the black and white. White walls, ceiling, checkerboard floor. He loves it as a nightlite. There is an indention where the window is in his room that was close to the size of my 75g oscar tank so it is there also. The kid is either gonna love fish or hate em. So far, at 7 months, he is fascinated by them. The big Perc is his buddy. He tries to catch him through the glass. :)
