Anyone use Aiptasia X????

I may have the beginning of an aiptasia problem. Has anyone used the Aiptasia X sold on this site? If not any other remedies I should know about?

YESSSS and i think its so much better than joes juice, we use it where i work and it is amazing

I haven't used aiptasia-X yet but I have read some good reviews on it. I have been using a DIY Joe's juice recipie and have had excellent results. You can find the ingrediants at your local grocery store in the canning section, all you need is some Mr's Wages Pickling Lime and some saltwater from your last water change. Boil the saltwater and mix 1 part pickling lime with two parts boiling saltwater. Turn off all of your pumps and use a syringe to apply the solution to the mouth of the aiptasia.

+3 on good reviews. its a little thicker than joe's juice and the aptasia thinks its food. little goes a long way. also like the curves needles for those hard to reach ones.
no harm to other corals either.

Why dont you go the natural route and get a peppermint shrimp? They are great and cheep too.

yep, have used both Joe's juice and aiptasia x....either works as well as stated... currently have 4 peppermint shrimp in my 180 and no aiptasie anywhere to be found....do remember that peppermints might take a liking to your frogspawn or hammers if you have any of those as there have been reported cases where they have made the switch

do i let it sit until it dissolves?

I appreciate the YouTube link, I have been wondering how it applied. Does anyone know where you can order it without a $10 shipping fee? How crazy is that shipping for a 2.2 oz bottle?

Yes but it doesnt state when to turn the pumps back on... or if it will affect something else if it comes in contact with it. i have blue vet aiptasia control it might be different.

Leave your pumps off for about 15-20 minutes after you finish treating the aiptasia. The blue life is basically kalkwasser so it will burn the tissue of on any coral that it comes in contact with and will kill zoas and palys if they ingest it. It also will cause coraline to bleach but mine comes back within a couple weeks.

Just cover the mouth of the aptasia with the aptasia x, as soon as I'm finished hitting all the aptasia I need to I just turn everything back on, I keep LPS, softies and SPS and never had any problems.

I use Aiptasia - X on my tank with a mix of corals. Works great and no impact on corals!

I have used both; Joes will kill the algae on your rock along with aptasia. Aptasia X does not seem to have the same effect on algae due the the method in which it kills the aptasia
