Ok I got a frag in a thermos swap and it got here smelling horrible. I had it in a 5 gal bucket for a few hours and there was no ammonia spike so I thought it would be safe. I was wrong. It did die and I saw my tank looking like crap so I did a test real quick. The ammonia was around 2.0-3.0. I yanked the frag and did an immedeate water change.
Right now it's
80g
82 degrees
0 trate
0 trite
0 ammonia
8.4 ph
1.025-1.026 sg
The xenia and kena tree just look horrible. The hammer is out fine but those 2 look so bad. Will they come back?
Anything helps at this point.

It was some gsp's. Which sucks cause I realy wanted some. When it was shipped there was no air in the bag. It was either that or heat that killed it. I thought it wasn't gonna make it but when the water in the bucket tested fine I thought it would be ok. That was the worst smell by the way. lol

Don't they have GSP available at your LFS or have you asked if they could get you some? Have you looked into reefclubs in your area? This goes without saying, but never put anything in your tank that smells bad.

My lfs way overcharges for it and I have just started the only reef club iin town. Lol. There is a guy that has some but he won't sell he just wants to trade and I only have the kena to trade. He doesn't want that. That was why I tried to go the mailing route.

Yep..you're right..I found 2 in Las Vegas, but none in Reno. That's too bad your LFS tries to scalp you on it, it's such an inexpensive and prolific coral. All you would need is a little swatch. Maybe once you get some people to join your club you can find some.
