Anyone with brackish?

I was just curious about brackish fishkeeping. Is the water just a low salinity? What kinds of fish are brackish? How hard is it to keep brackish fish? Etc.
ALso, since you can take some fish and make them brackish or saltwater from freshwater, is there a list of fish you can do that with? I know some puffers can be all 3. What about say, a Parrot Cichlid?

yes, brackish is just lower salinity, around 1.005 to 1.012. Most brackish fish "can" be kept in all 3 settings, but are stressed in full fresh or full sea, but at the same time, many fish live in fresh as fry, brackish as juvis, and salt as adults.
since they are adapted to so many conditions, brackish fish are generally very hardy. The only problem being, the stores may not keep proper sg so it may take a long time to drip them to proper sg.
some examples are archerfish, glassfish, climbing perches, shark catfish, needlefish, freshwater lionfish, freshwater morays, freshwater gobies, killifish, tigerfish, rainbowfish, monos, puffers, scats, targetfish, livebearers.
About the cichlid, as far as I know, they cannot be kept in full brackish water, but small amouts of salt would be benificial, but not even upto 1.005.
hope that helps a little, im sure a google search on the topic of brackish fishkeeping would bring up many good results.
