Aqua C or Euro Reef

I've narrowed it down between the Aqua C ev120 and the EuroReef ES5-3 for my 80 gallon tank. I'm putting it in a 15 gallon sump. Is there a major difference between these that should sway me to one side or the other?

I have never used an Aqua C so I can't comment there but the ER you suggested is kind of small for that size tank..If it were me I'd look at the ASM G-2 or G-3 skimmers

take a look at the Deltec and Bubble king skimmers...if you think ER's and AC are over priced you'll blow a gasket when you see the price of these skimmers.

Aqua C EV 180.
Noise level is about zero. I can't hear it.
Productiuon level is very good. But you be the judge.
I must admit I was going to get the Euroreef but I had a height requirement that limited me. I feel I did OK with my selection. I'm happy with it.

Both are great choices but I would choose a geo needlewheel skimmer or asm needle wheel skimmer over a euroreef because your mostly paying for the name with euroreef.:D

While euro-reef does make a great skimmer. Their customer service is non-existent. I am not trying to bash them in anyway, but I come for the school that's expects excellent customer service when paying a premium for a product. It is impossible to talk to a human when calling them and they are weeks if not months behind shipping their orders. I can't afford to take that kind of delay if something goes wrong with my skimmer. While I will not make a direct recommendation, I strongly encourage you to find a company that offers excellent customer service.

You can get an ASM skimmer in the range of 150.00-250.00. It is built to be identicle to the euro but is made of pvc instead of glass. It will save you a bunch of money. I have the ASM G2 and love it.
