How much do you pull out of your skimmer on the daily bases? I am pulling out a gallon a day. No matter where I set the collection cup, I get the same amount or more.
Any help would be appreciated.

A gallon a day, I'm sure you are kidding right? I get about a 1/2 cup every day in a 125g. I have the Aqua C Remora Pro. You must have very wet skimmate.

I'm lucky to fill my cup in one week on my 55, but I also have another skimmer and a fuge.

I have the Aqua C Remora Pro with the Mag pump. I have it on my 54g corner. It is tan in color. I tried to move the cup up as high as it would go to decrease the amount of liqud but nothing has worked.
I had a 1/2 gallon jug on it and come home to the bottom of my cabinet full of skimmer water and sipping out onto the carpet. This was after just dumping the full container four hours earlier. I have a gallon container that I have two change every morning because it is full.
I have no idea what to do.

What kind of additives are you adding to the tank? I have the very same set up that you do. Either your tank is full of nutrients or it is set up wrong.

Hi Katz,
I run an Aquac Romera EV 240 with a iwaki pump.
How long has your skimmer been set up?
Do you have the correct pump for your skimmer?
My skimmer did the same thing for about a week. Constant running and overflowing. I put a overflow hose back in the sump so that I would not get a flood in the house.
The skimmer is just pulling the crud out of the water and it takes a little time to adjust.
Good choice on a skimmer.

I have an AquacRemora Pro that I run on a 120 tank, fish only - and I empty the collection cup about twice a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. The water is murky, sludgy looking.
My 75 gallon reef tank also has an AquaCRemora running and that has to be emptied a couple times a week.
If you need to empty a gallon a day from your collection cup, then I would think something is definately wrong. Doesn't sound right. What size powerhead are you using, maybe the flow rate is too high?
The AcquaCRemora skimmers and pretty much a simple design, there are no adjustments, just connect the powerhead and go. Do you have a picture of the skimmer, setup and a pic of the material that the skimmer is collecting? Maybe a picture would help us on the forum make a better guess as to what is happening with your setup.

Do you add stress coat or any chemicals on a regular basis because that can cause your skimmer to overskim like crazy.

I dump mine 2 times a week, on my 55g but I'm sure I could get buy with 1 time a week. I have my o-ring in the middle of the cup

I have the Remora on my 24 gal and I dump it every other day, only because I dont want the dirty stuff to sit in the collection cup for very long. Its only about a 1/2" worth of sludge. I have the O-ring about about inch from the top. I always turn it off for an hour or so if I add anything to the tank.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I do not add anything to my tank in way of chemicals.
I just do a 10% water change every week.
I use Oceanic Salt mixed with RO water from WaMart.
My readings are:
Nitrate 0
nitrite 0
am 0
ph 8.4
alk nor
cal 500
I have the mag drive pump. It came with a filter and I am using it.
The o-ring is about an inch below the lid.
I tried to get a pic but came out looking like ...t.
Skimmer stuff looks like water down milk with stuff floating in it.
I have been running the skimmer for a month.

raise the collection cup. the higher the cup the dryer the skimate will be. mine pulls out about 1/2 collection cup of wet skimate every 5 days. i like the wetter skimate..its easier to clean.
