Contact AquaC. They are pretty good folks to deal with. I'm sure they will send a new o ring. In the meantime a big ol' rubber band will suffice.

Thanks Dinki,
You gave me an idea. If the shipper/manufacturer charges me too much for another O ring I guess I can use a big rubber band.

I contacted Aqua C and they are sending me a replacement O Ring for the Remora
My question is have any of you users of the product had any success using Vaseline? I feel that it is the sharp edges of the collection cup that caused the break initially. Has anyone sanded the outside edges of the cup to make it less sharp and help prevent the O ring from being cut

Thanks, Steve

It takes a little while to get the right balance of collection cup height and the overflow box height. But once it kicks in it works great.
I've had mine for almost a year.
The pump will run dry due to evaporation, so I top off the tank a little bit every day before going to work.
I hope you bought the version with the overflow tube pre-drilled in the collection cup. If you have the collection cup too low the muck will be wet. Mine pulled out about a gallon (US) in a day when it was too low. If I didn't have the collection cup with the overflow tube it would have been a huge mess. The overflow box prevented more from being pulled out of the tank, since it started to run dry. Once I got it set to the right height and topped off daily it works great!

Yes for success with vaseline on o-ring.

i think that the remora is great. I guess stuff varies from tank to tank, but once the skimmer finishes breaking in, you'll really see the gunk getting pulled out!
