aqua c remora question

Ok so i got the new aqua c remora skimmer and just did the noise mod this afternoon and it made a huge difference, however i was wondering if it was normal for a new skimmer (only been running a day) to not be pushing any foam up the tube that leads to the collection cup. I hear of many people saying that their new skimmers will fill there cups non stop with clear water bc of the oils used in putting the skimmers together, but I havnt read any of the foam not getting close to reaching the cup. Just curious if this would change over the break in period. By the way it is a year old tank with a large bio load so I know there is stuff to be skimmed

It took a few days before mine started making a considerable amount of foam. I'd say give it a little time.

Now I would not say Ramora's are junk. I have a Nano for my 20 gal and it does a pretty good job. The only problem is the noise. I have it on a time for that. Give it a week to break in and it just adjust it so the collection cup liquid is not too clear. I just bought a ASM G1-X and it took about a week to break-in.

ok well they are better then say a seaclone but if its anything bigger then a 30 or 40gal then i would def not waste my money on it. there a whole thread with 2 or 3 pages on -- all about why the remoras are like a 1 in 10 chance you get a good one

@Matt_B, I think you missed the original question. It wasn't "should I buy a remora", it was "i was wondering if it was normal for a new skimmer (only been running a day) to not be pushing any foam up the tube that leads to the collection cup". The money has already been spent so telling someone that what they purchased is 'junk' doesn't really address the question being asked.
