Aqua C Remora vs Coralife Skimmer

Ok, I'm in need of a new skimmer. I really have wanted the aqua c remora because I've heard so many good things about them. However, the coralife skimmers are about half the price. Would I go wrong with a coralife skimmer? Or should I just wait and save for the aqua c remora?

Aqua C all the way. I was debaiting the two, ended up gettin a SS and it was a piece of junk! It didn't fill anything in the collection cup, air flow had to constantly be adjusted, leaked cuz the o rings are crappy, put a ton of bubbles in the tank, i dunno. Maybe i'm wrong, becuase i have heard people say that they really like these skimmers. IMO, go for the aqua C. You always get what you pay for.

I admitt that I was one of those that praised the Coralife needlewheel skimmers.
But, now I'm going to make it official and announce to the world that I now hate these skimmers and I'm making the switch over to MRC's.

Funny you would say that. I think all the others look incredibly bulky and out of place. The Remora actually hides quite nicely behind a light fixture, and the color doesn't stand out.

I've had a Remora C Pro for several months now, and am very satisfied with it. Some complain of the "hissing" sound they make, but I don't notice it - it helps to be hard of hearing maybe!

the super skimmers are super loud...and make too many bubbles...plus they're highlighted with bright red plastic...stands out in a reef tank like a stor sign...looks terrible.. never should have wasted my money.

I have only had experiences with the super skimmers.
They provided a special "cup" for the return hose to minimize the bubbles in the tank.
The only problem i had was the Inlet hose and the pump had to be positioned just right or it would not create any bubbles. The hose has to fit very tightly over the pump and I must have put it a touch off so I had to mess with it awhile to get it to work correctly.
Other than that I think it works very well. Mine is underneath my tank in my sump so I never see it anyway.
GL with your choice

Do yourself a huge favor and get a Tunze. I had the CSS and liked it. I also seen the remora on a tank that never got water changes but once a month. It didn't pull all that much. My CSS pulled out more than the remora did and I did water changes every week...
The Tunze you set it and forget it.. No bubbles and it doesn't act up after its been cleaned either.. Its compact and is completly silent!
