Ihave a aqua c skimmer I dumped it sunday after 2 weeks since last time. Today I see its FULL so I dumped it 4hrs later its 1/2 full already. I've never had it get this full before so why would it be filling so fast now?
No foam? Is the water level in the skimmer higher than normal? If so I'd think there may be something restricting the flow of the output?
never had this happen.., just thinking logically.
I did my normal WC tonite and in less than a hour the skimmer was over flowing. I cleaned it last week and have added nothing to the tank sinse. Ive turned it off because I'll be gone most of the week theres only 1 fish in the tank.
I called home and the skimmer still fills in less than a hour. Its clear water, how long will it act like this. I found out Amquel was added to help with a Ammonia problem any ideas would be helpful............thanks
are you using rodi water or treated tap. Alot of water conditioners have stress coat in them that will make a skimmer act crazy like you speak of. Not sure of Amquel but it most likely has stress coat. Also how old is the tank. If you are haveing amonia problems then it sounds like it is a new set up. and most likely the skimmer is just pulling out nutrents from your cycle.
Tank is 3yrs old they added 3 cap fulls of Amguel after I did a WC sunday. We did some work in the house and the tank was covered most of the time for a month. I am sure that caused some problems. Skimmer is off when no one home. RO/DI water is used
it must be skimming out something from the Amguel. I would keep refilling the tank with salt water but pay very close attention to your salinity. Make sure it dont get high its a tough one there cuz the skimmer is pulling out saltwater so you have to replace with salt water but also take into consideration evap should only take a few more days to get all the Amguel out of the water.
