Aqua C surface skimmer

Hello all,
I have had a AquaC Remora on my 55 gallon for about a 1.5 months. I purchased the one with the Rio 800. I was reading that I could get more gunk out of my tank by adding a surface skimmer, but I am a little confused.
On one post someone said that you can go to ---- and get a surface skimmer made by Fluval that will connect to the skimmer. I looked into this and the one they were talking about looks like a pipe that kind of resembles a heater, and had one elbow sticking out of it for which I am assuming you would connect to the skimmer pump. This does not make sense to me because the pump only has 1 output and no inputs...
I also looked directly at the AquaC Remora site and they list a prefilter box that you can install but I am not sure they make one for the Rio 800...
Anyway, if anyone knows what this is about or can shed some light on the subject please reply. A diagram of how this works or some instructions would help greatly.
Thanks,
Adam

I have the setup with the Remora and the Fluval surface skimmer. Works great. You will need a different hose to connect to your pump as the one that they provide is too short and flimsy to work.
Upgrade to a 1200 pump. The rios are notorious for going bad without warning and have been known to release toxins into the tank when they do.
Here is a pic of my setup:

Thanks for the info.
TheGrog, I think I am going to go your way. I am in the process of ordering a maxi-jet 1200. I am also going to order some tubing, but I have another question.
What is the size of tubing I need to connect from the surface skimmer to the pump. I know I will need at least a foot length or so, but what about the diameter of the tubing. 1/2 ''? 5/8 ''? 3/4 "?
Anyone can answer...
Thanks
Adam

Do what I did. Bring in the intake and the pump and find a size tube that will fit. I think I needed a clear tube piece over one end as a spacer as I think the intake of the pump and the intake of the fluval are about 1/8" different.
As for length, whatever works for your system.
I used reinforced pond hose so there is no worry about the hose colapsing under pressure.
