aqua medic skimmers? some help/advice?

looking at buying a new skimmer,i do not have much room in my sump so whatever i get is going to havet o sit beside it..or a hang on into my sump. anyone used the TurboFLotor 1000? or the hang on model of it..i want of course the less expensive one and it comes without a pump, but says it has all the parts to mod a rio 2100 to make it work?> i have 2 of them..any info will be appricated i was going to buy an octopus skimmer but if i can use this aquamedic one with my spare pump that wuold be great.even buying an aqua medic pump would be $60 cheaper then buying an octopus setup. any info or suggestions are appreicated. thanks.

they are very good skimmers for up to about 90 gallons or so. they dont work nearly as well with Rio pumps (seems like common practice to try when no ocean runner needle wheel is available). You need to get the recommended ocean runner needle wheel pump or equivalent.

well would you recommend it for a90 gallon? or go bigger? im selling my aqua c ev1000 because i cant fit it in my sump want something that will do great for my tank.

I would use it on a 90g in a minute. Its definately not overkill by any stretch but it will get the job done.

I like the Multi for smaller setups because you can hang them on the sump and free up room.
