aqua remora skimmer question

i just got aqua c remora skimmer, and was wondering if i can use 1100 rio pump? its recommended for rio 800 but wondering if 1100 pump would do better. Thanks for any feed back

Two things.
Avoid the Rio pumps. They are notorious for going out early and crashing tanks by leaking into the system. Use the maxijet powerheads instead.
Second, I would stick to the recommended pump size. They design the skimmer for a certain amount of flow. Increasing that flow rate may not increase performance, but may in fact hurt it.

Maxi 1200 works. Thats what i got on mine. Works wicked good!

thanks for the info. but i just found out that the skimmer is aqua c remora pro which means that i need to use rio 1400 or meg 3, dont know which one to get

Go with the Mag3. I have the Urchin Pro (like the Remora but for in sump) and I am running the Mag3 pump. Never had a problem.
