AquaC Remora HOT Skimmer

Anyone else use this skimmer? If so, do you have any problems with filmy residue remaining on top of the water in your tank? Never had the problem until about a week ago. Was going to try and adapt some type of fitting to the powerhead to move the intake up higher near the very top of the water, but wanted to see what some of you have done about it also. I have an Eheim 2227 Wet/Dry canister filter whose intake is near the bottom of the tank, and the AquaC skimmer's intake is about 5-6 inches below the water level.
Any ideas?

Yeah, I have a Remora Pro. The skimmer doesn't cause the "surface slick" but there is a skimmer prefilter that you can get to take care of this problem.
Look at the surface preskimmer attachments on this link [middle of page]. Works great for me!

Also, what kind of media do you put in yours, if any? I already have an Eheim 2227 Wet/Dry canister filter with EHFI Substrat in it. I guess more filteriing with the prefilter box wouldn't hurt. Just curious as to what I'd put in it, or if it would be a good idea to put anything in it.
Thanks again!

actually, I prefer less filtering
only skimming and a natural bio filter. LR, LS and lots of circulation is the best, IMO
