Well, I have a skimmer. It is the Skilter 250. Not the best skimmer but maybe it just needs some help of the macro algae and some more hermit crabs. I plan on trying the algae and if it doesn't work, I will upgrade to a better skimmer. It also might be that I just needed to adjust the air flow into the Skilter. Anyway, I do not doubt that a better skimmer will improve my tank, I just want to see what my other options are before I spend $100 to $200 for a new skimmer. I also have to spend money for lighting and from my research I have come to the conclusion that is going to cost a lot of money. Well thanks everyone for your input. I really needed it because my tank is in bad shape.
