not with the stock lighting. i have a 14g biocube and i put MH in it, i thought i was gonna have to get a chiller but i modded my hood with some holes and the heat issue went away

i put a retro fit 70watt MH in mine. im not sure how much difference there is in the hoods of a biocube and aquapod. im sure someone on here has done it. depends on what u wanna keep in ur tank. u may not need extra lighting

JBJ 70W viper... see if you can find the 16.5inch discountinued model used, they fit nicer.
You may be able to go hoodless and that'll cut down on heat... fans are also good... don't run a chiller unless you have to since they really hit the electricity bill hard LOL.

lmao aight thanks but im doin soft coral ill just ride out the lights that came with the tank
You'll get the itch to do LPS and maybe SPS at some point... LPS like alittle more light than most softies but not as much as SPS.

yeah those aren't maggots, but rather some sort of pods... LOL... but those bags of biomedia aren't good to leave in there, the rock is for that. If you keep the sponge, make sure you keep it CLEAN!!! or else it'll trap nitrates..
You could always rip the hood off and stick that viper clamp on MH like I was talking about..

You can get a viper MH used for $50-$75 for a 70w or 150w (only if you want an SPS only tank!) and figure another $50 for a new bulb if it needs it.
Are those blackballs carbon or bioballs? take a pic.

bioballs aren't usually recommended when it comes to reef tanks. fine for fish only. i'd swap out that media.

Get those bioballs out!
Get a chemipure bag for the tank if you don't already have carbon. It sparkles up the water and I can't stress enough run rowaphos or phosban!!! you'll thank me later when you're not battling ridiculous mystery algae problems.
