You can put in a Snowflake, but it's gonna be a hassle of finding someone to take it when it gets bigger. A fish store will tell you, now..."sure, we'll take it back" but what are you gonna do if the time comes and they change their mind? It's always a good idea, when getting fish, to make sure you have proper room for them, all the way up to their adult size.
I have a 12gal JBJ Nano Cube and I keep 2 Anglers in it...you can check out my "New Frogs" thread, in the aggressive fish forum.
As someone else said, Leaf Fish would work, small Scorpionfish...groupers and Morays just get too big, too quickly, to put in a 12gal.

Well one main thing is that anglers/frogs need to be kept in species only tanks in order to thrive.
What is it that you wanted to know about them?

Never hurts to do a little research on your own.
Try Google for "Frogfish", "Anglers", or "Anglerfish".

Do a little research my friend. Dont get one because people are saying get a frog fish. They are messy eaters and you will have to keep on top of water maintance. forg fish will cost you a bit of money to get a small one that will be able to live in there. some get up to the size of footballs. a wartskin or a painted angler would do well in there. and once again do some research

ok thanks synd i well but lisen i really want a snowflake eel even though people are telling me i can but frogfish are better. what do you think i should get? If you say snowflake eels get to big like i said i was gonna change him or her out and trade him in for a smaller one. My near fish store owner said i could do that cause i go there and by alot from him.

I dont think anyone has said "You have to get an Angler". I think we've said "A snowflake would be too big".
I paid less than $20/each, for the 2 Anglers in my thread...including the one that's 3/4" long...I dont think that's "will cost you a bit of money to get a small one that will be able to live in there". The ones you mentioned (Wartskin and Painted) are actually the most expensive ones, often costing upwards of $200, per fish. You are correct is estimating about the "football size", but it's only one species that gets that large...the Commersons. Pretty much every other species (that's available) will max out around 4" - 5".
They are messy eaters, yes...and you do have to keep up with the water changes...but, if you're a responsible hobbiest, you're keeping up with water changes anyway. At one point in time, I was changing upwards of 1000gal. of water every 2 weeks. It's a pain but has to be done.
The point I think we're all trying to make here is...do some research on your own. What someone else likes doesnt mean you will too. You're just starting out in the hobby, NanoKid...you have to make your own choices about what to keep and what not to keep. The goal is to remain responsible and if a certain fish will get too big for your tank, then dont get it...plain and simple.
Just off the top of my head, here are a few other fish that you can check out:
Liopropoma rubre
Wetmorella sp.

I got them local. I went to one of the local fish stores, asked if they had any on their wholesale list and then ordered two.
Ask your local fish stores...you said that one guy likes you cause you buy alot from him. Ask if they can order them.

Leaf Fish.. but you may have to feed live food (ghost shrimp mostly and then a damsel every few weeks at least..) i get mine 2 damsels weekly.. but they are spoiled

about $30
but the feeding is the more expensive part IMO.. 2 damsels a week and ghost shrimp.. it adds up
then again... i could probably get away with 1 damsel ever 2 weeks and ghost shrimp in between..

The best thing to do would be to get it over to frozen foods, which is fairly easy to do with Leaf Fish.
Then, it wouldnt so expensive for you and you'd be feeding a more nutrious diet, as Ghost Shrimp have no nutritional value to them.
