Aquapod w/ hood?

What are the pro's and con's of buying an 24g aquapod with a hood verses better lights? I have to get the hood because I have cats, but does the hood come with enough currents to raise coral?

comes with 64 watts in the hood. Or you can do like i did and buy a DIY kit from {edit} and upgrade your lighting. I have 64 watts in my 12g aquapod and you can get a kit up to 108 or 144 watts kit for the 24.

The ballasts in the AP are rated for 40 Watts. They come with 32 Watt bulbs. You will have to add a fan under the hood (there's an empty spot for it). You will have to unscrew one side of the ballast because the bulbs are a little longer.
I understand your need for a hood. I have a 2 year old.

My first post i said the Aquapod comes with 64 watts.. It only comes with 48 watts, 2x24. I upgraded to the 64watts 2x32 and i had to replace my ballast as well
