a kalkwasser lab is just as big of a nusience to society as a meth lab. You should have to show I.D. to buy vinegar.

Me too.
Realistically if they filed a lawsuit they would have just won a bunch of tax money from the city and not the judge personally, who frivalously handed over a search warrant to the police without any substantial evidence.

Not to mention that the couple was not young and were cuffed. Their door was broken in, it was terrible. I do like the picture pointing into a cave in the rock captioned "Meth lab in here"

Seriously though, they were not treated too nicely. I understand that the police had probable cause. Now that it is over, the couple should be entitled to a settlement of some kind.

Absolutely.
A friend of mine had his car torn apart because the police suspected him of carrying drugs. Didn't find any. Didn't apologize for destroying his ******** either, and I mean they really screwed it up bad.

Right, I understand that there is protocol and that they have to take these reports seriously. This was out of hand though.

didn't we already have this debate? What really ticks me off is the cable guy NOT minding his own business.

I dont even need to read the article I can image it went something like "neighbors notice strange light" or "strange odors reported by building superintendant" "maintinence man reports strange smell" or some other thing. but hey at least the cops tried to do something about a methlab..... even though it wasnt. better than them ignoring the possibility.
