well i have got a significant amount of coral but i dont like how my rocks are......would it be ok to aquascape in a tank almost a year and a half old? or should i bite my bottom lip and leave it that way.....

Yes! I know I'm never happy with my setup. I just bought 16 lbs of base rock to help fill out my tank.
Just watch out, if you haven't move the rocks for awhile, be prepared for a sand/detritus storm.
Oh, and watch for all the fishies and inverts that may be underneath. Try to a headcount before dropping the bottom layer.
