Have you had any problems with micro bubbles? I just got one and it puts out a lot of bubbles, does it just take a few days to clear up?

I have one. It's a little fiddly, but it works. Mine took about two weeks to dial in and slime up, but now it produces a good skimmate. I think if I were to do it again I might save a little more and get the Tunze Nano, but if you're looking at a money issue then yes I'd say it's a serviceable unit. As for micro bubbles; yes I get them too. I took a piece of filter floss and tucked it between the aquarium wall and the outlet vent, and it stays in place with small magnet scraper.

Probably - as long as your water level is fairly constant.

Oh yes, also make sure the skimmer is properly fitted together before you use it. I was having a heck of a time at first with air bubbles escaping out of the back. The whole unit comes apart for cleaning, and if it's not tightly snapped back together you get air bubbles escaping out the back and this interferes with the internal flow. Long story short, it won't skim this way, just fizz. ;-) Once I figured out what was wrong and put it back together correctly, I got a foam column right to the top of the cone. My skimmate is more watery than most heavy-duty skimmers; it's a medium-dark brownish green tea rather than a dark sludge...but this may just be due to my error in dialing it in.
