aragonite alternatives for sand bed?

I am setting up my 120 gallon tank and was quoted over $200.00 canadian for 6 20lb bags of aragonite!
are there any cheaper alternatives to aragonite?
home depot up here does not have play sand but they have something called bomix filtration sand for $6.00 for a 50 lb bag.

I live in Illinois, Home Depot Just got some nice white sand in last week. Dist. by Old Castle, Clear bag with blue label. Looks great inmy 120.
