I'm a beginner with a 46 gal bowfront and am trying to decide on a skimmer. I had been considering the coralife ss but some people here have had flooding problem. It looks like the aquac is almost double the price. Is it worth extra $$. Can someone recommend another brand I should be considering?

Good skimmer IMO.....there are other skimmers out there for more, but can't say any better though, even though some will argue so.....Good bang for the buck.

To me - no. But you also have to think of location and style. THe SS65 is pretty big and tall. THe remora c is smaller and compact. As a HOB it won't show as much.

I am not sure what you are planning on paying for the Coralife SS, but I have found the Remora for about $160 while I have seen the Coralife at $105.
I bought a "cheaper" skimmer (SeaClone) that seemed to work pretty well when it worked. Problem was that I had to pull the sucker out every 2 weeks to get it working again. I got sick of it and bought a Remora. Set up and just clean the skim out. No other messing around required. So I learned my lesson that you get what you pay for.

I went through 2 cheaper skimmers(SeaClone, Prizm)then I got a Remora. It was well worth it IMO. The Remora is very easy to set up & the only adjustment is the collection cup position.
