Are clowns more sensitive fish to water parameters or disease?

in the last couple of days both of our favorite fish (2 clowns) have died. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them being the first to go as a prediction of something bigger?

I agree with WHO DEY especially if they are captive bred. sometimes wild caught can be weak if they are cyanide caught but for the most part clowns and other damsels are pretty tough fish.

What the hell then... cause all the other fish in my tank are still kicking... but both clowns died and they were captive bred. They were super fun to watch too

How long have you had them? What are your exact water parameters for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, SG, and temp? What did they act and look like before they died?

0 ammonia
0 nitrite
20 nitrate a little higher, but a water change should help
8 ph
1.017 SG surprisingly low.. no idea why
80 Temp
The smaller of the two clown fish I noticed not really eating for 2 days. He acted hungry and would chase food, but then stop before he got it... or sometime he would get it in his mouth, only to spit it out again. The other clownfish acted normal the whole times, always really hungry and very active.

How often do you test? That drop in salinity would have done it if it was drastic. You have no idea how it got that low at all? Did you do a water change recently? Do you have other fish or inverts?

I have 4 other fish and many inverts + clean up crew. Everyone eelse is doing fine, which is why I'm confused as to why the clowns would go. Had the clowns for a week and a half

If you have inverts and a cleanup crew then you should get that SG up to 1.025 or 1.026 inverts will not survive in lower salinity. Do it slowly, no more that 1.002 per day. As for the clowns, if you only had them for a week and a half, then there my have been something else wrong.
