Are 'fake' barnacles safe?

I bought a 'fake' barnacle cluster from my LFS for my fish to hide out in. It says it's "marine safe" is this true? Should I worry about the plastic/chemicals/paint leaching into the saltwater aquarium? I know 'natural' would probably be better, but I don't live anywhere near a beach and hate to order something online (when the postage would cost more than the actual product being sent).

They should be pretty safe. Lots of people have used decorations with no issues (that I'm aware of).

Thanks! I'm going to put it in tonight. I have my mom in-law looking for some real barnacle clusters when she goes to Long Island beach this weekend. I remember Henry saying that he just found his on the beach. My mom in-law is visiting in a couple of weeks, so if I'm lucky than she'll find some and bring them with her. I wonder if they'll make her suitcase smell funny....hahaha
