Are Flame Angels Reef Safe?

I am soon going to purchase both a yellow tang and flame angel to live in my 55. I don't have any coral yet but soon plan on adding as much as possible. Also tank now has Royal Gramma, Mandarin, Red Scooter, Chromis. Some say Flame Angels pick at coral, is this true?

Some will, some wont. It depends on the individual fish.

They have been known to nip corals. Some of them leave corals alone to. I guess its just a chance. I actually got a flame 2 days ago. I havent seen it nip yet, but its still pretty shy.

I ordered one of the Flame Backs from here 3 weeks ago and it hasn't touched anything. Not quite the same thing (or even from the same ocean) but I like them better than the Flame
