Are illyanassa obesoleta snails ok for a reef tank?

i have never heard of them before and can get them very cheap 100 for 20.00 and are they a sand dweller or an algea eater like on the glass? will they eat all the good stuff in the sand if they do live in it?

Auction site, seller from one of the carolinas. I have seen them get to the size of a quarter and they live in 65 degree water.
