Are inverts nocturnal?

I just added 2 green emerald crabs and a few turbo snails to my 10 gallon. They don't seem to move too much. The one crab moves a bit but the other chills in the same spot. They're all alive though.
I was just wondering if they are nocturnal, because they don't seem to move much in the dya.

Yes, they tend to be nocturnal.
If they went out during the day in the wild, they'd get picked off more easily by predators.

yup, I've been putting in some pellets. Food floats right by them and they don't eat it.
At first my big crab ate a few pellets. I love how they pick it apart.

I didn't really think of it until now, but I have time to do a water change prob.
I have to swap the powerhead out of my tank, but there's still some circulation.

ok so PH is about 7.9 now. Thinking the water change will help that.
Nitrate, trite and ammonia are 0. Can't get a good s.g. reading, but I am going to get a hydrometer tonight hopefully.
The crabs are moving their limbs and stuff, thet just don't really move off of the rocks.
My one snail is slowly making his way around the tank and seems happy. 3 are out of their shells but not really moving.
Edit: Just fed some brine and the one crab went crazy. The small one has still hardly moved. Another snail started wandering also, so for now I think those2 are doing fine.

Generally my snails are much more active at night. Skip the hydrometer and go right for the refractometer. Much more accurate, and should be under $50.

I was going to do that after this hydrometer dies. I might do it now. Can you send me a link in a pm to a good refractometer for under 50?
Also my emeralds are moving around a lot more tonight, and some snails still haven't moved. Only one of them is completely in their shell.
Seems tha at least 3 will survive, and 2 more might.
