that test all parameters?
It seems that kits test Nitrate, Calcium, Phosphate... well, at least the one(s) that I've seen.
Are there kits that test *everything* that is needed or do you need to purchase individual tests....and if so, what wouldl you say are the most important - in order...
I wish I could just go out and purchase everything I need.. but I went into this not knowing and now I have to go in order or importance because I have the tank (90 gallon) and I don't have the money to do everything right <sigh>
TIA

Nutrafin makes what the call the "master test kit, it usually sells for about $80 bucks and comes in a big plastic case

When I started my tank I used the Seachem marine basic test kit. It tests for pH, alkalinity, ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite. It worked very well for me to start up a tank. As my tank matured I slowly switched over to individual Salifert test kits as they are more accurate. I bought the calcium Salifert kit first as that did not come with the Seachem kit.
To me when you are cycling a tank you don't need to be pinpoint accurate and also you are going to be running a bunch more tests than normal so that is why I opted to start with a cheaper less accurate test kit.
For comparison the Seachem marine basic kit is around 25 bucks while each Salifert kit costs between 13.00 and 30.00 bucks!
