ok i got the 48" CORALIFE fixture with 2 65 watt actinic lights and 2 of the 10k 65 watt lights. Ive heard numerous of opinions. and it seems by scrolling thru posts that alot of people in here seem like experts.

Depends on what size tank you have. I had the same lights on my 55 gal and kept all kinds of softies and easy to medium range coral. If your putting them on anything bigger than a 55 your probably pretty limited on what you can keep..

If you putting these lights on the 72 gallon thats in your profile, then they'll be OK lighting. you should be able to have most soft corals, and mabey a couple low light LPS.

i have a 72 gallon tank, so ur saying the 260 watts total is not sufficient enough for this size tank??? We have a bunch of corals and they seem to be thriving.

what corals should we stay away from?? We have a bunch of polyps/zoos, and a plate coral (which we've heard that they were very difficult to keep up with, but we had him for a yr now and its the total opposite, hes prob. thriving the best) and we just got star polyps, alvepora, ricordea mushrooms, and a couple other mushrooms. so i hope they adapt well in our tank. We've had the lights for over a yr now and we just ordered new bulbs.

stay away form high light LPS liek corches and hammer corals...maybe you can do a frogspawn...don't do any SPS (hard corals)

i have the 20 inch 96 watt fixture and the fan sucks. but i put a regular fan on a stand on it and that seems to keep it cool enough. And as i understand my fan problem isnt an uncommon one. good luck.
