Are you... a mall person?

The people were not dressed up to go to the mall. They were on a day out with friends and decided to go shopping as one of the things to do.
Sometimes a person wants to just go in and get what they want...they are on a mission. Others have the day free, they like to just relax and look around, get a bite to eat and laugh and visit with friends.
JMO..normal people do not go around thinking everyone that is not just like them has something wrong with them...

My aunt would dress up for the mall. She wanted to look like she "belonged" in the stores she went to. And she said you never knew who you were going to run into.

The title almost scared me "Are you... a mall person?" However, I faced my fears. I hate going to the Mall. Yes, hate is a pretty strong word...

Cranberry's aunt dressed up to go to the mall.
If I ever go back, I would feel more comfortable being dressed up, even if it's a quick dash.
A day out with friends?? Most were alone or mother daughter types. Or as Sho says, (and yes, it was international), gay males. They got dressed up to go there and buy more stuff to dress up in!
I don't think there is something wrong with people not like me, I think there is something wrong with all of THOSE people, and they are, by no means, like me... Or anyone else in this thread.
I know some mall types, some of my best friends are... ah, that's a lie. But I know them. Never look at price tags nor would they dare ask. They are vane, and more so, rude. The employees that I had to talk to were super nice, but the shoppers, were...not so much. The mall really is like a whole new world. It's up there with bars, and clubs. It's now a "scene". And not one I can ever see myself in.

LOL...I am sooo out of the loop! I haven't had money to go to the mall for at least 2 years now....I spend my cash at the fish stores....I never heard of anyone "dressing up" to go to a mall. It is just a group of stores all in one place...
Yep I must be getting old.

I don't know where you live, but if you ever come to Florida, I would LOVE to take you there!!
I remember the days when the mall was "something to do" or "a place to hang out", but not anymore! It's incredible!
I mean seriously, why the valet parking?? There is even a Renaissance (sp?) Hotel right there IN the mall!!
It's very different than it used to be.

I guess I should clarify that those good times were 20 years ago.

Oh yeah, I remember those times...sigh.
Back in the days when the mall wasn't a status symbol. Back in the day when it was fun to meet up with people and just, hang out.
Yeah, I remember those days...

The only mall I have ever actually enjoyed going to, was THe Mall Of America in Minneapolis....however the fourth floor is nothing but bars...makes it easier.

Now that’s not true...I was at the Gurnee mall in Illinois, HUGE place, with my niece and it looked like the same kind of folk as myself. Just 2 years ago...well maybe 3. We went to a few stores and ate lunch...they even had a dollar store in there.
I mentioned valet parking to my mother...she thinks it would be great to have such a thing. She likes to shop, and goes to the mall all the time. She said maybe it is just Florida, cause it is't here.
