I just bought an arrow crab, acclimated it and placed it in my tank. It hasn't moved for hours ...is it dead?

I floated bag for 15 min, then added a shot glass of my tank water every 5 min for another 15 until bag was full then emptied bag netted crab and put him in. Yes, I nudged he doesn't move.

Yes, I would say it's most likely dead, and please don't buy another one. From your profile, you have many small fish, plus some soft corals with polyps. Neither should be in a tank with an Arrow Crab. They have been known to catch smaller fish and eat them, as well as pick on soft coral polyps during the nighttime.

Wow, I had read more than once they are reef safe. My smallest fish is 2inch. Will he go after that? I bought him because I wanted something to eat my brissel worms...what can you suggest?

I have learned that you don't badmouth the bristle worm on this site. LOL I used to love watching my arrow crab yank those nasty critters out of the rock. Arrow crabs and feather dusters don't mix.

Send your worms to me! That's what you can do with them. Unless they get to be really big, they're better left in the system.

I will never understand the bristleworm logic on this message board. I should sell them, everyone seems to want them so bad.
