Do you put Cure rock in a tank thats not cycled to help it cycled or will it hurt the LR?
Thank you for your replies and help,

Personally I haven't ordered from this site, but I know many who have and they loved it. Also, you want to add it into a tank while its cycling.

I've bought LR from SWF and was very pleased...
I would suggest doing a search on here for curing LR if your not familiar with it. There's ton of info

says there rock is cured so i wouldnt have to cure it thats a plus i was just wondering if the cycleing would hurt the LR and when you put it in do you just add it rite to the tank? ive never put anything in a tank be4 as far as sw goes,
im think im gonna order 20 pounds and then add more later
notice they includ the boxin as well...?

doesn't really matter for cycling, but around the same salinity would be good, i just bought 5 gallons from my LFS and used that

So if I buy pre-cured live rock off of this site, then all I have to do is put it a bucket of saltwater?!?! I already have livestock in my tank, so I cant buy un cured rock because I dont want to have to take the time to cure it myself. Has anyone ever had any problems with mantis shrimps and stuff like that with SWF's live rock?

It doesnt matter if the LR is cured or uncured. When you put it in your tank the LR is still going to cycle from die off from the shipping. Only time you dont have to cure LR is if its straight from your LFS to your tank. I ordered from SWF and I was very very pleased.

ANY LR THAT IS SHIPPED should be recured. It is a risk to put it in an established tank, IMO. If you are setting up and CYCLING a tank then it is fine. But any LR that is shipped more than a couple of hours maximum, will have die off, and so should be recured on arrival. Precuring often means that big chunky stuff (eg sponges) have been removed to minimize die off from them.
