2) Based on your vast experience what do you see as the single most improvement in SW husbandry in the future. Yet again, I don't know about having vast experience. I thought you and I were pretty much on the same level. In the future I can see our aquariums becoming more improved by the knowledge that hobbyists can share with each other through the internet. I think that it is our job as hobbyists in saltwater to be aware of the conditions of the worlds reefs and to try to make as little of an impact on them as we have to, while striving for others to do so as well. I wish to see the improvement of the oceans reefs current conditions.
This is a good question. I think affordable
quality LED fixtures would be huge. Right now there are affordable crap fixtures, expensive quality fixtures and expensive crap fixtures. I can't wait until we can all replace our T5's and MH's with decent LED setups.

Who of the known "guru's" in the hobby is your go to person?
Where are you studying Marine Biology?
"I wish to see the improvement of the oceans reefs current conditions." Do you think we can really affect such a large ecological environment?

1. I would have to say Bang Guy.
2. I will be attending the Fall 2013 semester at the University of Southern Mississippi.

I think that the John Pennekamp National Park off the coast of Key Largo, FL has to be considered a success story. The reef was literally being torn apart. They declared it a marine preserve in th 60's and it has been recovering since then.

I have snorkeled there. Nice place, but just a small part of the overall system.
True, but you've got to start somewhere. It's only about a 45 minutes drive from my house. I go scuba diving there sometimes. It always amazes me how much life there is on the reefs. There are other things we can do to help the reefs. Like finding ways to limit nutrient runoff from farming.

Wow...this didn't come out well. I had like five things I wanted to say when I started typing this. Then my two month old woke up and started screaming. So I just blurted it all out incoherently and went to take care of him.
