ASM G-1 skimmer help

I noticed this morning that my skimmer wasn't working properly. Instead of the bubbles in the chamber, it was just water. I took it out, rinsed it in fresh water, blowed through the air tube to see if something was clogging it, then put it back in to see if that helped, it didn't. Took it back out, and it is now soaking in a 5g bucket with FW and vineger.
Any help or ways to fix this are really apreciated, I'm not in the mood for ANOTHER problem. TIA

Did you pull the pump apart and check the needle wheel? I'm not really familiar with these but if the air line is open then I would think it has something to do with the needle wheel or how it's seated.

I have no idea how to take a pump apart or what to look for...

By looking at a picture of it I would think that the piece where the air line ties into should pop off you might have to give it a twist or something. Do you still have the manual for the skimmer? It should have cleaning instructions and maybe trouble shooting

I am gonna be obvious here and ask if you have the airline tubing hooked up to it and the end is sticking out of the water?
Also can you see anything block the air pathway where the tube connects to the pump?
Or can you see any break in the tube that is allowing water to be sucked into the pump through the air tube?

air tube is out of the water and is connected to the pump...
I sent you a PM just now, I did the vineger cleaning and then put the airline on it and it started working again, so I guess it is fixed
just needed a cleaning?

thank you for tryin to help me out I really appreciate it, as I told spanko, did a vineger rinse with the pump on, then put on the air line and it started to work again.

BUMP.
This happened again this morning, took it out of the sump, let it run in a bucket of hot water and some viniger, right when I added the viniger it started blowing bubbles again, put it in another bucket and let it run with just hot water then put it back in my sump and it is working again. How do I figure out what is up with the skimmer? I'm confused.

Hey Salt,
I don't have a lot of time tonight sorry. So the input to your pump should twist to unlock the face. After doing that the impeller will come out. You are going to want to clean the needle wheel and the magnet. Also clean inside the pump where the mag/impeller goes in. I like to use a tooth brush and q-tips to clean the various parts.
I know you have said you cleaned and inspected the air line. So I am assuming that it is clear and clean.
What I am thinking is that the pump is gummed up and needs a good cleaning. It isn't running as well/hard as it should. So without proper flow then it isn't going to suck in any air.

I have found two different pumps these come with.
If you have the G-500 pump it looks like a Rio pump. If that is the case then there will be like a nut. The circle will unscrew.
Well gotta run for tonight, I will hit you up tomorrow.

Thank you posiden for taking the time to help me out, tomorrow I will take the pump off again, take it apart and clean the wheel and magnet. I will look back tomorrow to let you know how it goes and see if you have any other ideas. I really apreciate it!
