Joncat will probably chime in here...but he recommended an Octopus Skimmer Dual Recirc 250 needlewheel for me....I have a 220 I am going to be setting up in the LONG future....LOL....the skimmer is about 500 bucks...and rated for 300 gallons
the octo nw 200 si a better skimmer than the asm g3 for $100 less money. It has a larger body and better construction.
that being said, Iwould recommend A recirc 200 for your system. The nw 200 may do the job, but the recirc would definitley do the trick. it is $389 but is a very nice skimmer.
May also look into the das ex2 skimmer for your needs. It all comes down to budget really.
Hey thanks I think I will go with the Octopus Skimmer Dual Recirc 250.
I found it on sale for 350.
What small pump would you recommend with it that runs cool and quiet?
I would gravity feed it form your tank drains...
if not then I would use a quiet one if you can find one that pumps at roughly 400 gph. that is all you need for input flow.
Ha yeah that copy and paste can get me in trouble it is the single recirc 200 that I am thinking on getting.
I thought about the gravity drain but wouldn't that be quite a bit more than 400 gph...I have two 1 1/2" drains?

put a ball valve on one of your drains to feed the skimmer and you can control the flow to it...
Joncat, how does the octo compare to the asm in terms of adjustment, cleaning, cup removal etc? I am trying to decide between the G3, and Octo NW200.
Thanks
thanks Jon I will be getting my new skimmer soon, I have been very happy with the ASM mini G I am running on my 46 reef, I have never seen an octo, but I know alot of people are really sold on them, I may give it a shot.
