Hey everybody , I hate to bring another Skimmer question buy the archives dont really answer my specific question for the most part.
So I am looking to spend around $275-$300 and I really cant go over that.
Right now I am leaning towards the ASM as I have read great things about them.
I have also heard great things about AquaC and EuroReef.... main thing with EuroReef is Im not going to be able to find the right size skimmer I need for the money I can spend, which brings the ASM G-3 into play........ however I had some questions about size, I was reading in the archives that ASM is great if you get the right size for your tank .... and I dont know what this means, so I will post my Specs
55 Gallons (standard dimentions)
A ProClear Wet/Dry (as the picture shows)
55 pounds of LR
50 Lbs of LS
1 Maroon Clown
1 Yellow Tang
1 Blue Damsel
2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
1 Peppermint Shrimp
Astrea Snails
Scarlet Hermits
Banded Serpant Star
Green Eye Zoos
1 Candy Cane Coral
So my question is what size ASM should I go with, I want maximum skimming without fail , but I also dont want to over do it and not get as much for going with a bigger Model.
I dont think Im going to go with the AquaC because I can get the G-3 for $248 with a Sedra 5000 Pump, and I may even go with the G-4 if I can find one at a good price.
Here is the specs for G-3
Model ASM G-3 G-Series In-Sump protein skimmer. Sedra 5000 pump INCLUDED. Rated for 250 gallons. 6-1/2-inch diameter body. 25-inch height. Requires a footprint of 11-inches x 12-inches. $248.00
Also here is the Specs for my Wet/Dry
