Assorted Tang turning white

Our assorted tang is turning white. He has faded and is now getting whiter and whiter each day. He seems to be eating. It doesn't look like ich.
The other fish in the tank are all fine - yellow tang, lawnmower blenny, clown, angel, christmas warrse.
Anyone ever seen anything like this?
Thanks.

Kelly, I have not heard of an assorted tang before. Does it have another name? Can you post a picture?

Never buy anything from a tank labeled "assorted". This is not the name of the fish, it is an assortment of fish. At the lfs, this usually is either fish that didn't sell, or they don't know what it is, neither of which is good.
Tangs are prone to getting Velvet, a parasite that makes them look white. Without a picture this woild be my first guess. Loss of color is a sign of general stress or poor health as well.

What is he eating, how often? What are you water readings? Can you post a picture?

Personally, I would be careful casting any stones. I could look back at any person's post and pick something to poke fun at. It does no good to anyone, or any fish, if she decides not to come back because of something as silly as this.

It is an honest mistake. But I would find another LFS, personally...
But how long have you had this fish? How large is your tank? What are the water parameters? What and how often do you feed? How large is your christmas wrasse (this could be an issue depending on which type of christmas wrasse you have...the large aggressive or the smaller reef friendly...)
