Astrea Snail w/no shell?????

I have been watching this guy clean the inside of my skimmer. He is an Astrea and he has no shell.
I guess this is possible?
Did he drop it off so he could fit inside the skimmer and pick it up later at the shell check counter?

Snails don't shed their shells, but stomatlla snails look like they have astrea bodies and never have shells. It's probably just a stomatella that hitch hiked in. I don't think I would leave him in the skimmer when they do such a good job keeping tanks clean.

Sorry... just looks nasty...
:D
I like the idea of not cleaning my skimmer too! too bad a snail would croak in my collection cup

I'll try to get a better pic of him because from looking at him he sure looks like an astrea.
I thought the stomatellas are the ones pictured below? They have like a baby moon hubcap on top of them.
He can get out of the skimmer anytime he wants as it is an internal one.
