I have a 90 gallon and I have a mature yellow tang. He seems quite happy and swims in and out of the rocks. I give him seaweed everyday and he is like puppy dog when I am putting it in the clip. He loved to be cleaned by my cleaner shrimp and the tang gets along well with the corals and other fish.
There are tang-police on this site who feel it is cruel to have a tang in anything less than an ENORMOUS tank. I don't have experience with all tangs and maybe they know more than I do about tangs. But my mature guy seems quite happy in 90 gallons.
BTW, people will tell you tangs are ick-magnets. There are lots of postings with people who must go thru the ordeal of dealing with ick so be sure you quarantine your new tang before he goes in your tank.

i mean, i've read that the yellow tang has done well in a 90 or 75 buti guess its all about experience.
i also read that hippos can go in 70 or less.
hippos can go in a 70 but not for very long and thats only when they are a few inches. they need a 125 or larger tank cause they get to be 15 inches or more. there is a tang just like the yellow but blue in color that would be fine in a 75
