Atlantic carpet anemones are not the same as Hadoni or other carpets. They do not host fish, and are very aggressive. If they get the opportunity they will eat your fish. In my case I am not "playing with it"..I work with them. Thanks for your snide remark.

People just need to use common sense and understand what type of fish should and shouldnt be in the tank with this anemone. Granted they do pack quite a sting, nobody said your supposed to play with it.

My remark wasnt snide , and i wasnt trying to offend anybody.... but if your working with these anemones that you KNOW are very aggresive , put on a pair of gloves. You cant blame the anemone its just doing what it is supposed to do. Why are you getting that close to it witout gloves?

Look oceanists your paragraph came off as a little harsh, and you completely ignored the actual topic of this thread, and went on to bash someone else. Sorry about your fish lubeck.

The Sebae should be fine, i have learned that anemones are far less aggressive, if you feed them every so often.

I didnt bash anybody, your obviously reading in to the post a little to deep. SERIOUSLY what is a logical reasoning to get that close to an anemone without a pair of gloves. Its common sense. :notsure:
5 rules of this saltwater hobby.
1 . Research
2 . Dont cycle with fish
3 . Know the consequences that you and your livestock will suffer if your not stocking your tank properly.
4 . Respect your livestock and their space.
5 . Dont buy things you havent researched.
Sorry if I offended anybody but seems like everybody wants to blame nature when something goes wrong.

There are bundles of people who can succesfully house an anemone, so its not right to say Anemones should stay in the ocean when the same thing happens out there also.

Lubeck sorry about your Sailfin, it is awful, and it was a good idea for you to get rid of the carpet. Good luck with your Sebae.

It's just the way you put it. You know, the same thing could have been said without the comment to suggest I am stupid for having had an anemone sting me.You have no idea what the circumstances were. It's ok...this attitude is becoming the norm around here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion....even you. Have a nice day.

Ok kids back to the task at hand. Sebea's are light hungry creatures so if you have the light and the water conditions you should be fine.
Sorry about the fish. Good luck with the new anemone.
